“My heart’s desire is to be outside;

to move through it, noticing and appreciating the complete and total wholeness of things as they are and how I am part of that.”
~ a note from my journal…

You’re in the right place if you need affirming inspiration to love the world;

I look for this everywhere. I hope this a restful space where I can practice creativity in public, write about inspiration, document ideas and resources while learning about the incredible landscapes where I live, learn, and play.

My mental stumbles with creativity are familiar, universal, and walk the edge of inner resistance:

  • This is taking too long. Why are you counting words? Is this even interesting?

  • Why do you want to blog anyway? Who is it for?

  • Does it sound like I’ve figured it all out? (…I haven’t, and I’m sharing these thoughts because I’ve been googling how to survive without Instagram and how to lean into my desire for long, slow forms of communication. I’ve been finding information out there, so I know others wonder too.)

I work as a landscape architect, wonder as a gardener-naturalist, and play with mindfulness, mobility and photography during my walks here in Anchorage, Alaska.

For fun, I create imaginative mixed-media artwork inspired by landscape, memory and experience.

I’m still learning to call myself an artist or writer; to prioritize making a little art and writing for myself everyday. I hope that it might inspire you to keep caring for your gentle self too.

I’m in the middle of it; whatever it is, hoping to pull a thread or two along the way.
